South Tampa eatery, Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant, 2500 W. Azeele St., has made Tampa history. On Saturday, June 1st, the restaurant held its annual Sangria Fest and whipped up the title of the “World’s Largest Sangria.” It was certified by a Guinness Records adjudicator. With 1,022 liters, Ceviche beat out the 1,000 liter requirement. That’s a LOT of Sangria, my friends!
The 9-foot Sangria pitcher used for the 1-ton concoction is a replica of the pitchers used at Ceviche’s six locations where more than a half a million glasses of Ceviche’s house-made Sangria was served last year.
The world’s largest Sangria used more than 750 bottles of wine and 500 pounds of fruit along with plenty of brandy, Triple Sec and simple syrup.
More than 700 people attended Ceviche’s Sangria Fest where they not only enjoyed the spectacle, but also enjoyed all-you-can-drink sangria for a $20 advanced ticket!
The fest also raised $1,500 for the American Red Cross’ tornado relief efforts in Oklahoma.
